sharing a poem
This poem followed an entry I had written back in January when I wasn’t feeling complete in my own skin. I was disconnected, sitting in a moment of confusion and struggle and I was looking for a way out. I was writing to myself as well as to other women and men who were battling a space of discomfort.
The journal entry looked like this:
“I am here to say that “I know”. I know the struggle, the moments of difficulty, the times when it feels like life isn’t on our side. Like everything is challenging and uncomfortable and no one seems to see you for all of you. We all face those times at some point or another. Even when you look at someone who seems to have it all right, the truth is that person also experiences those low moments. Without those moments we wouldn’t be able to grow and overcome and morph into better beings, more conscious beings, and awakened beings. We need those hard moments. They teach us. They can be a gift if we choose to see it that way. Remember, we are meant to evolve, we are meant to find the best version of ourselves—stay open to life even when it seems daunting and scary. Our journey is what it is when it is where it is.”
And here’s the poem that followed:
Dare not be ashamed, embrace all of your light.
It’s your gift in this world, it’s your will to fight.
As life may get hard, your mind may say No,
Remember dear one your pure and extraordinary soul.
Your heart’s meant to love, your spirit meant to shine,
Allow yourself to BE and the rest become divine
